Driveway cleaning
Professional driveway cleaning across Leyland, Chorley, Preston and South Ribble. Resin, tarmac, block paving and concrete all need a different method — we identify what's actually on your drive before choosing one.

Before and after
A recent driveway cleaning project — a block-paved drive and side path with weed growth in the joints.

What driveway cleaning includes
The same considered process on every job, adapted to whatever's actually on your drive.
- Initial conversation, then assessment — we talk the job through first and identify the driveway surface where a visit is needed.
- A clear written quotation — scope, inclusions, exclusions and the expected finish.
- Property protection — planting, borders, drains and garage doors protected before we start.
- Method matched to the surface — controlled pressure for block paving and concrete, low pressure for resin, a rotary cleaner and hand-lancing for tarmac.
- Weed, moss and silt removal — organic growth and arisings cleared as part of the clean.
- Optional re-sanding — kiln-dried sand into block paving joints where appropriate, once the surface is dry.
One driveway, one method
A method that's right for block paving can strip resin or fail on old tarmac. We identify the surface first, then choose the approach that suits it — not the other way round.

Surface & condition considerations
Cleaning removes general dirt, moss, algae and surface grime very well on any driveway surface — it doesn't repair cracking, settlement or failed edging, and some surfaces need a genuinely different method.
| Surface type | Resin, tarmac, block paving and concrete all respond differently. Resin can loosen under full pressure; old stone and tarmac edges can be stripped or softened. |
|---|---|
| Surface age | Older, more porous surfaces hold dirt deeper and re-soil faster. Faded colour does not return with cleaning. |
| Previous staining | Oil, fuel, rust and tyre rubber are absorbed into most driveway materials and usually lighten rather than lift completely. |
| Moss and algae level | Usually the biggest single improvement, and the most reliable part of the result. |
| Drainage | Standing water keeps a driveway damp and speeds up regrowth. Cleaning does not change the falls. |
| Re-sanding | Only relevant to block paving — kiln-dried sand needs a dry joint, so it's usually a separate return visit. |
How it works
A short enquiry, then a conversation with Kieran about the work. Where a site visit is the right next step, we look at access, drainage and condition in person before anything is priced — then you get a clear written quotation, and only pay once the work is finished and you're happy with it.

Which driveway surfaces do you clean?
Resin-bound, tarmac, block paving and concrete — including imprinted concrete. We identify the material at the assessment and set the method to suit it.
What does driveway cleaning cost?
We don't publish prices. Cost depends on the measured area, surface type, how much growth there is, and access for hoses and waste water. Send an enquiry and Kieran will talk it through with you.
Do you re-sand block paving?
Yes, where appropriate. Cleaning removes whatever sand is left in the joints, so re-sanding with kiln-dried sand is usually the right finish. It needs a dry surface, so it's normally a short return visit.
Is pressure washing safe on every driveway surface?
Not at full pressure. Resin, older stone and worn tarmac can be damaged by an aggressive lance — we use low, controlled pressure on those surfaces instead.
Will you get rid of the oil patch where the car sits?
We'll treat it and it will usually lighten, sometimes considerably. It will rarely disappear completely, because oil soaks into most driveway materials rather than sitting on top.
