Before and after
A recent exterior cleaning project — a garden deck and path darkened by algae and weathering.

What exterior cleaning covers
Whether it's one surface or several, the process is the same.
- Initial conversation, then assessment — we talk the job through first and survey the surfaces where a visit is needed.
- A clear written quotation — scope, inclusions, exclusions and the expected finish, covering every surface you want looked at.
- Property protection — planting, borders, drains, doors and vents protected before any water is used.
- Method suited to each surface — driveways, patios, decking and paths are rarely cleaned the same way.
- Weed, moss and algae removal — organic growth lifted out, usually the biggest visible improvement.
- Optional re-sanding — kiln-dried sand into block paving joints once genuinely dry.
One visit, several surfaces
If you have a driveway, patio and a bit of decking all needing attention, it's usually more economical to do them in one visit. Tell us everything you'd like looking at when you enquire.

Surface & condition considerations
Exterior cleaning removes general dirt, moss, algae and surface grime and improves kerb appeal considerably. It doesn't lift every oil, rust or paint stain, reverse fading, correct drainage, or repair settlement and failed pointing.
| Surface type | Driveways, patios, decking and paths all need a different method — we identify what's there before choosing one. |
|---|---|
| Surface age | Older, more porous surfaces hold dirt deeper and re-soil faster. Faded colour does not return with cleaning. |
| Previous staining | Oil, rust, paint, tyre rubber and leaf tannin are absorbed into most materials and usually lighten rather than lift. |
| Moss and algae level | The most reliable improvement, and the one that makes the biggest visual difference. |
| Drainage | Standing water keeps surfaces damp and speeds regrowth. Cleaning does not change the falls. |
| Loose pointing or damaged joints | Failed mortar and empty joints limit safe pressure and sometimes need attention before cleaning is sensible. |
How it works
A short enquiry, then a conversation with Kieran about the work. Where a site visit is the right next step, we look at access, drainage and condition in person before anything is priced — then you get a clear written quotation, and only pay once the work is finished and you're happy with it.

What exactly do you mean by exterior cleaning?
Exterior hard surfaces on domestic property: driveways, patios, paths, steps, garden and boundary walls, hard standing and timber decking, plus kiln-dried re-sanding for block paving.
Can you do several surfaces in one visit?
Yes, and it's usually the sensible way to do it — one set-up, one visit, one quote. Tell us everything you'd like looking at when you enquire.
Which areas do you cover?
Leyland, Chorley, Preston and South Ribble, and the villages between them. See our service areas page for the full list.
Are you insured?
Ask us when you enquire and we'll give you a straight, current answer before any work is booked.
How does payment work?
You get a clear written quote first, with the scope set out. We don't ask for a deposit and we don't ask for payment until the work is fully complete and you're satisfied with it.
